Archimedes Redux

A friend of mine recently posted a quote and it read: "Find a place to stand and move the world"

At first i thought that she had misquoted Archimedes ("Give me a place to stand and a long enough lever and I will move the world")

It's not particularly deep or encouraging or insightful, but i thought it was a good thing to say, and I'm all about saying good things.

I never really like that quote (including variations).

What if I don't want to stand in one place?

I think its better to live by setting an example for others to follow (or partially follow).

Actions are more powerful than words.

I think that it makes sense. I think of it kind of with physics and see that if you have nothing to push off of, you can't move something. Try pushing a car while standing on ice.

I don't think it means you have to be the same, or stand in one place, I think that it just means you need a base of believes with which you can affect change onto the world.

It isn't extremely deep, but it is prying on the surface.
